Pepe Reina helped Spain claim a thumping 10-0 win over part-timers Tahiti in Brazil on Thursday night.

The Liverpool custodian played 90 minutes in front of 71,000 at the Maracana but had little to do as the world and European champions made it two wins from two in Confederations Cup Group B.

Fernando Torres scored four of the goals - and would have had another but for a missed penalty.

David Villa claimed a hat-trick, with David Silva (2) and Juan Mata netting the others.

The scoreline equalled Tahiti's heaviest ever defeat, though Spain have done better - a 13-0 thrashing of Bulgaria in 1933.

Next up for Reina and co is a clash with Nigeria on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Luis Suarez and Sebastian Coates were involved as Uruguay beat the Nigerians 2-1 thanks to strikes from Diego Lugano and Diego Forlan. Nigeria's effort came via John Obi Mikel.

Suarez played 82 minutes before being replaced by Coates.

Uruguay are now joint second in Group B, tied on three points with Nigeria heading into Sunday's game against Tahiti.
