A special event was held at Anfield on Tuesday to celebrate the achievements of children and adults from the Liverpool FC Foundation's disability football programme, Ability Counts.

The players were joined by parents and coaches in the Champions Suite for their end of season awards' ceremony. Medals were handed out to all participants while a select few received a special accolade as they were presented with the Player of the Season awards.

Ability Counts is part of the Foundation's 'Football for All' programme, providing young people and adults with additional needs the opportunity to play football at a competitive level.

The teams play at a regional level and some adult players will be competing at international level in Switzerland this summer in European Disabled Cup.

Liverpool FC Foundation disability coach, Ryan Moignard, said: "This is a celebration of the whole season and a chance to get the players, parents, carers and everyone together, to reward them for their commitment to the programme.

"It's about recognising their achievements and highlights over the last year.  The players' attendance, attitude and effort have been outstanding and we are delighted to be able to honor them."
