On the day Kolo Toure arrived to complete a switch from Manchester City, Rodgers explained why he chose to bring the experienced centre-back to Anfield.
The manager also reflected on the importance of securing transfer targets early in the window – and spoke of his delight at seeing a revitalised Steven Gerrard return to training, having recovered from his shoulder operation.
