England hope for Williams
Liverpool Ladies star Fara Williams gave a fine display as England kept their European Championships qualification hopes alive with a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser against Russia on Monday night.
After the opening 3-2 defeat to Spain, coach Hope Powell had described this game as a 'must win'.
However, with England trailing 1-0, it seemed like her side were all set to crash out of the tournament, until Everton's Toni Duggan netted deep into added time to earn a priceless 1-1 draw.
They must now beat France in their final group game on Thursday night (kick-off 7.30pm BST) to stand a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.
Williams played the full 90 minutes while fellow Reds Gemma Bonner and Lucy Bronze remained on the bench.
The Liverpool ace showed some silky touches and came close to scoring on the hour mark with a decent effort that was well saved.
A scrappy first-half effort from Nelli Korovkina opened the scoring for Russia, but Duggan's last-gasp goal secured the draw.
