Brendan Rodgers set the standard for his players to follow earlier this week when he found the back of the net to help a team of Liverpool staff stage a remarkable comeback against Melbourne Victory.

The Melwood side, which included the likes of Mike Marsh, Colin Pascoe and Robbie Fowler, found themselves 4-1 down against a team of Melbourne employees at AAMI Park.

Trainer Peter Cklamovski bagged two either side of strikes from Arthur Gillion and Vaughn Coveney to hand the Australians a comfortable lead, with head of fitness and conditioning Ryland Morgans notching for the Reds.

However, when legendary striker Fowler popped up with a stunning free-kick to give Liverpool a fighting chance in the tie, Rodgers and co responded.

The manager took matters into his own hands, firing home to make it 4-3 before head of opposition analysis, Chris Davies, clinched a dramatic equaliser in the match.
