Steven Gerrard has revealed how our four new signings have been blown away by the scale of Liverpool's worldwide support during the summer tour.

The Reds have been watched by 178,000 fans in their two games so far - while everywhere they went in Jakarta and Melbourne they were surrounded by screaming and often emotional supporters dying to get a rare glimpse of their heroes.

None of this has changed during the final leg of the tour in Bangkok, where 5,000 Thais turned up to see our captain pay his respects to the King on Friday.

Gerrard told Liverpoolfc.com that he has loved seeing the likes of Iago Aspas, Simon Mignolet, Kolo Toure and Luis Alberto react to such scenes.

The skipper said: "The support this time has gone to a new level. I've obviously experienced unbelievable support throughout the years but over the course of the three places we've been it's been mind-blowing.

"What's been enjoyable for me is to see the new players' reaction.

"When they sign for Liverpool they know they're signing for a big football club, but when you go to places like Indonesia, Australia and Thailand, you can see on their faces how huge it is.

"They're blown away by the size of this football club. It hits home then what they need to do to become regulars at this football club."
