Academy trio lend Huyton support
Three of Liverpool's Academy hopefuls paid a special visit to Huyton to support aspiring young footballers in an U8 tournament run by Huyton Juniors FC.
Nathan Burke, Connor Randall and Jordan Williams went along to Jubilee Park in Huyton as 20 teams from all across the North West competed for the second annual Chris O'Toole memorial trophy, in conjunction with tournament sponsors McDonald's and AnfieldFM - the radio station run by Liverpool fans.
Victoria Colts Vipers of Wallasey emerged victorious when they beat Huyton's Knowsley South 2-0 in the final.
Event co-organiser, Paul Manning, said: "This was the second annual Chris O'Toole memorial trophy and our ambitious plans to grow from just six teams last year paid off, as we more than trebled the size of the tournament.
"The feedback we have had from participating clubs has been outstanding, giving us the confidence to plan for an even bigger tournament next year.
"I would like to thank Liverpool FC as Nathan, Connor and Jordan were a credit to the club, speaking to all the kids and having their photograph taken with everyone."
