Liverpool Ladies manager Matt Beard is hoping his side can show their true colours and bounce back from their defeat to Arsenal when they take on Lincoln in the semi-final of the Continental Cup at the Halton Stadium on Wednesday night.

Kick-off is at 7.30pm BST and admission is just £5 for adults and £2.50 for children and concessions.

The Reds lost their lead at the top of the Women's Super League at the weekend when the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal and Bristol's win at Everton saw Beard's charges drop to second place.

There is a real determination in the group to put the Arsenal loss behind them and reach the final of the Continental Cup.

Beard's side reached the Women's FA Cup semi-final this season only to lose 2-1 to Arsenal at Anfield, so they are hoping to go one better against Lincoln on Wednesday night.

Liverpool won 1-0 away at Lincoln in their opening league game in what was a close affair, and it is a tie that could go either way.

Beard told Liverpoolfc.com: "It will be a really tough evening for us but I'm confident with the group we have got that we should be able to progress to the final, but we are not taking anything for granted because they pushed us all the way in the league.

"It's important we are challenging for trophies and that's why I relocated to Merseyside because I want to win trophies.

"We have the league to play for and the Continental Cup. It's important we progress as we need to keep a winning momentum going again.

"Lincoln have strengthened their squad during the break and have some decent young players which gives them competition for places.

"They have nothing else to play for as they were knocked out of the FA Cup and are struggling in the league at the moment, so this is their main focus."
