Going into the game on the back of two defeats to Arsenal and Lincoln in the Continental Cup semi-final, Matt Beard's side rose to the occasion and now leapfrog rivals Bristol to top spot on goal difference.

Bristol took the lead but Louise Fors equalised from the penalty spot after Nicole Rolser was upended in the penalty area.

On the stroke of half-time the Reds took the lead when Fors set up Rolser to head home.

After 57 minutes the ladies made it 3-1 thanks to a fantastic long-range strike from Icelandic star Katrin Omarsdottir.

The home side then pulled a goal back on 66 minutes which came on the back of a poor goal kick, then two minutes later they levelled it up at 3-3.

However, Beard's side showed they have the mental strength and Bonner's winner will give the team massive confidence for their remaining six league games.
