Istanbul inspiring charity success
Eight years after the Reds' remarkable comeback in Istanbul, our Champions League final triumph over AC Milan is helping to raise more than £3,000 for the Steven Gerrard Foundation.
Last month, the 33-year-old's charity launched a brand new website and accompanying online auction featuring 630 customised Liverpool FC 2013-14 home shirts.
Each jersey has a unique design incorporating a special Steven Gerrard Foundation logo, commemorating the midfielder's 630 appearances for the Reds in his testimonial year.
The shirts, which will be personally signed by Gerrard himself, are now open for bids from supporters around the world at www.gerrardtestimonial.com.
Two of the items under auction have raised more than £1,000 for the foundation - the 2005 European Cup showpiece and the FA Cup final victory over West Ham 12 months later.
The jersey marking the former match has amassed 103 bids and a total of £3,502 while the latter is currently set to be purchased for more than £1,000.
Other popular shirts include the dramatic 2004 clash with Olympiacos when the skipper fired his team into the Champions League knockout stages and his iconic Merseyside derby treble past Everton in 2012.
But time is running out to secure a piece of Steven Gerrard memorabilia, with just days remaining to launch your bid for any of these historic items.
All money raised from the auction will be donated directly to the Steven Gerrard Foundation, which was created in 2011 to provide a brighter future for disadvantaged children.
The auction is one of a number of events celebrating Gerrard's testimonial year, after Anfield honoured the inspirational No.8 during the friendly against Olympiacos at the beginning of August.
