Football fans across the country are being encouraged to download a new, free app as part of Kick It Out's ongoing campaign for equality and inclusion within the sport.

Launched last month ahead of the new Barclays Premier League and Football League seasons, the app aims to further reduce the level of discrimination and unacceptable behaviour at matches.

The download provides supporters with a quick and straightforward method of reporting such incidents, in addition to receiving the latest news on the organisation's projects.

With backing from the Premier League, Football League, Football Association and the Professional Footballers' Association, the app was downloaded more than 1,000 times within 24 hours of its release.

Liverpool FC has a long-standing relationship with Kick It Out and has been involved in several 'weeks of action' campaigns in recent years focusing on issues including race, disability and gender.

Kick It Out chair, Lord Herman Ouseley, said: "The majority of football fans have told us loud and clear they want zero tolerance of discrimination at all levels of the game.

"Over the past 20 years Kick It Out has stayed at the forefront of tackling discrimination with innovative campaigns and new technologies.

"This new tool will help clubs and the authorities target instances of discriminatory behaviour more consistently while maintaining healthy and vocal rivalries at games."

The app allows users to submit reports with specific details of where the incident happened, at any level of English football, and has been introduced to accompany existing phone and email lines of communication.

Supporters can download the free application now via the Apple Store and Google Play
