YNWA film-makers need your help
A film company based in Liverpool is appealing to the generosity of supporters in their attempt to release a documentary about the iconic song 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.
The 56-minute film, titled 'Walk On - The Story of You'll Never Walk Alone', features interviews with John Aldridge, Ian Callaghan, Jamie Carragher, Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard plus many more.
'Walk On' chronicles the story of the incredible power of this Rodgers and Hammerstein anthem, its adoption by Liverpool supporters on the Kop and its emotional legacy.
Presented by Kelly Cates, daughter of Dalglish, producers Tabacula are aiming for a release to coincide with the 50th anniversary since Gerry and the Pacemakers' version reached No.1 in the UK charts.
With television companies failing to take up the film, the makers hope to raise £75,000 from fans' donations before September 26 to ensure the documentary can be distributed and cover associated costs.
They are attempting to achieve their goal via the Kickstarter website, an initiative launched to support creative projects, big or small, from films to games, music to art and design through crowd funding.
Fans who pledge their support to the project will be rewarded in varying levels - from digital downloads and DVD editions of the completed film to VIP tickets for the premiere at the Philharmonic Hall.
