Club statistician Ged Rea brings you all the facts ahead of our clash against Manchester United - including how a third goal in three games for Daniel Sturridge could see him emulate Robbie Fowler.

Only twice in the Premier League era have Liverpool won their opening three games of a campaign - in 1993-94 and 1994-95.

For the first time since February 2006 Liverpool have won three league games in a row by a 1-0 scoreline. They last won four successive league matches by a single goal in March 1974.

The Reds have kept clean sheets in seven of their last nine league games and are unbeaten in the last 11 matches in league and cup. That is their longest unbeaten run in almost two years.

Liverpool last kept a clean sheet in each of their opening three league games of a season in 2005-06, when they achieved four in a row.

Of the 42 Premier League clashes between the teams there has only ever been one goalless draw. That was at Anfield in September 2005.

The last 11 league clashes between Liverpool and United home and away have produced 36 goals.

Both teams have scored in each of the last six meetings in all competitions.

Only Dick Forshaw (eight) and Harry Chambers and Gordon Hodgson (seven each) have scored more goals for Liverpool against United than Steven Gerrard's six. Robbie Fowler also scored half a dozen.

Liverpool have won 11 Premier League meetings and United 23. There have been eight draws.

Liverpool's biggest ever win here was 7-1 in the first game between the clubs in October 1895, when United were known as Newton Heath. United's biggest win here was in December 1969, when they recorded a 4-1 victory.

Seven Liverpool players have scored league hat-tricks against Manchester United, with only two men - Peter Beardsley (1990) and Dirk Kuyt (2011) - achieving the feat in the last 76 years.

Daniel Sturridge today celebrates his 24th birthday. The last Liverpool player to score for the club on his birthday was Andy Carroll against Oldham on January 6, 2012.

Sturridge could become only the second Reds player to score in each of the opening three Premier League games of a season. The last man to achieve the feat was Robbie Fowler in 1994-95.

He has found the net 15 times in his 19 games for Liverpool in all competitions. His last 15 club goals in league and cup immediately prior to joining the Reds were scored in 56 games.

United have won at Anfield 10 times in the Premier League compared to Liverpool's seven. It is the best record of any visiting team during that era, four more than Arsenal.

United have failed to score in only three of their last 17 league visits in front of the Kop and have found the net in all but two of the last 12.

This is David Moyes' 13th visit to Anfield as a manager. He has drawn seven and lost five of the previous 12.

The last time United came to Anfield without Alex Ferguson in charge was on February 9, 1986 when Colin Gibson scored in a 1-1 draw. John Wark equalised for Liverpool. David Moyes was playing as a centre-back for Bristol City in the Third Division.

Ryan Giggs could play his 47th game for United against Liverpool. His first was in a goalless draw at Old Trafford in October 1991.

United's goalless draw with Chelsea last Monday was their first in 83 Premier League games.

They have won 14 of their last 21 away league games. Their last defeat on the road came at Norwich in mid-November and they are unbeaten in their last 13.
