'I've never heard support like that'
Actor James Corden may be a West Ham supporter but the Londoner admitted he cannot wait to come back to Anfield after watching Liverpool defeat champions Manchester United on Sunday.
Corden was in attendance to watch Daniel Sturridge convert after three minutes and extend the Reds' 100 per cent start to the Barclays Premier League campaign.
The 35-year-old was hugely impressed by the atmosphere generated by the home fans and believes Brendan Rodgers' team are capable of achieving something special this season.
He joined LFC TV for an interview at pitchside when the action concluded; read on for the full Q&A.
Your first visit to Anfield - what did you make of the experience?
I loved it so much. I've never been before. If I didn't support a team and I came to this game, this atmosphere and this ground, I'd be a Liverpool fan. I've never really heard support like it. It was amazing - it was overwhelming to see such an incredible atmosphere. It was brilliant.
You almost seem a bit shell-shocked by it all...
I'm just so impressed, it was so great. I also had a bet on Liverpool winning 1-0 and Sturridge scoring - so I'm going back with more money than I came with. I just feel very lucky to be here. I'm a West Ham fan and a football fan, and it's one of those games that you want to see. I feel very lucky that I was here to watch it; it was terrific.
That's three wins in a row for us; you're a neutral, you have seen us at first-hand, what did you make of the side and what do you think we can do this year?
There's nothing better than confidence. Confidence is the greatest thing you can ever have in your team. It looks really good. It was one of those games where it felt like you could still be playing now and United weren't going to score. For some reason in the last half-hour, or from the end of the first half where Van Persie had that altercation with Gerrard, it felt like they weren't going to score. I think it's really positive, they just look full of confidence. I thought Jordan Henderson was brilliant and Skrtel had a great game. You can understand now why for so long Sturridge has been saying 'I'm a centre-forward' when you see him playing in the last few games. And this is without Suarez; when he comes back it's only going to add a £50million dimension to your team. If I was a Liverpool fan I would feel really confident. It's a long season and who knows about the top four places, but you'll certainly be there or thereabouts. I was fortunate to be talking to Ian Rush and he was saying last season you would have drawn this game, but it looks like there's steel in the team. He knows a lot more about football than you and me, so I'd agree.
There's a mini-Liverpool core to West Ham now, a lot of our ex boys have ended up there. Are you hopeful they can add a bit to your team?
I hope so. We had a really poor game yesterday - we just weren't very good at all. Andy Carroll coming back is a massive thing for us. I'm looking forward to when we play you here, I might come back because I've got a real feeling we might do you here. We've got some players in our team who are out to prove people wrong.
