'Hendo has hit the ground running'
Former Reds midfielder Jan Molby believes Jordan Henderson can expect a very rewarding top-flight career if he continues to adopt the same attitude he is currently displaying on and off the pitch.
Henderson has been an important element of Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season, scoring the fourth and final goal against Notts County in the Capital One Cup and producing impressive performances in the first three Barclays Premier League matches.
Anfield's one-time 'Great Dane' insists that the 23-year-old can secure a long-lasting spot in the side if he maintains the same level of performance throughout the season.
"I have always said that Jordan Henderson could have a successful top-flight career - provided he sticks to what he is good at and doesn't try to be something he isn't," Molby wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.
"Last season he had to wait until January 30 before he was still on the pitch at the end of a Premier League game - when he was outstanding against Arsenal.
"This time he has hit the ground running."
Molby also claimed that Henderson's hard-working playing style and physical attributes are having an influential effect on the team.
He continued: "He influences the game in his own penalty area and then gets forward to try and get on the end of things in the opposition's 18-yard box.
"I'm pleased for him, and also delighted that in a Liverpool team that is quite small in stature, he adds a bit of height and physical presence.
"If he sticks to what he's doing and what he's good at, there's no reason why this can't be a significant season for Jordan Henderson at Liverpool Football Club."
