Opta statistics from Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday show how Jordan Henderson was a driving force for the Reds from his central midfield starting position.

Defensively, the No.14 attempted seven tackles, winning 71.4 per cent, completed four clearances - the best figure of any midfielder on the pitch - and successfully achieved one block.

Henderson proved triumphant in 90.9 per cent of the duels he entered across the 90 minutes, was undefeated in aerial battles and also collected two interceptions.

The facts and figures suggest the 23-year-old was equally effective moving forward too, registering a higher passing accuracy than any other player in his position: 92 per cent.

He launched one shot at the Eagles' goal and drew two fouls from the Reds' opponents, rounding off an accomplished performance at Anfield.
