Stevie: My pride at equalling Charlton
Steven Gerrard insists it will be an honour to equal Sir Bobby Charlton's appearance record for England when the Three Lions face Montenegro on Friday night.
Gerrard will skipper his country in the first of two crucial clashes when Roy Hodgson's side host their World Cup qualification rivals at Wembley.
It will be the captain's 106th game for the national side - a feat that takes him level with Charlton and two caps behind the legendary Sir Bobby Moore.
"[Charlton] is one of the best players to ever play for England, so I'm very flattered and honoured to equal his record," said Gerrard.
"Hopefully it can be a good memory as well and we can get the win we need.
"The games against Montenegro and Poland will be right up there with the most important games I've played for England.
"We're at a critical stage of the qualifying campaign now and it's up to myself and the players to deliver."
