'I hope our boys are angry after April'
Newcastle supporter Dan Robinson provides the view from St James' Park ahead of today's game - and he explains why Alan Pardew's side will be desperate to make amends for the 6-0 drubbing in April this year.
Talk us through your season so far...
It's still difficult to tell how it's going to go really. There have definitely been moments of optimism in brilliant performances and wins away to Aston Villa and Cardiff, but then these are balanced out with a shocking defeat to Hull at home and then shocking performances against Everton and Man City. The form of Loic Remy gets you excited that we could have a top player on our books, but then the form of Cisse makes you wonder if he will ever get back to how good he was when he first arrived. Those two players probably sum up our season so far. Inconsistency has been the key and until we sort that out we will be a run-of-the-mill team.
How can we expect Newcastle to line up on Saturday and what will be their approach?
Hatem Ben Arfa was left out against Cardiff and we played well without him, but I would expect him to return. Alongside Remy he is our best attacking threat. I would assume we will have them two out wide and Cisse up front, with Cabaye, Sissoko and Tiote in midfield. It's more difficult to predict the defence, especially because Coloccini is a doubt. But if he's fit I would expect him and Yanga-Mbiwa to return, with Debuchy and Santon at full-back.
If you were Brendan Rodgers, you would...
Put two men on Ben Arfa.
One Liverpool player you'd like to see wearing black and white on Saturday?
Daniel Sturridge. I've always liked him and I think he was unfortunate at Chelsea. He's got pace and gets you goals.
What are your memories of the last time the two sides met back in April?
Sitting in a pub with my head in my pint wondering when it would all end.
There'll be no repeat of that because...
We're in a better place mentally than we were then. And surely the players will be angry at how they let that happen so will want to prove it was a freak result. You'd hope...
Any tips for travelling fans heading to St James' Park on Saturday?
Get down early and sample Newcastle's finest public houses and then make sure they've booked a hotel so they can go out on the Saturday night!
Where does a game against Liverpool rank on the fixture list in terms of importance to Toon fans?
Well obviously nowhere near the derby but its probably up there in the big games just after Man U etc. It's always a good fixture (apart from last year) and we've both got some good memories from down the years.
If you could relive one Liverpool v Newcastle moment from down the years, it would be...
Jose Enrique in goal. Couldn't write that.
And the one moment you'd gladly erase from memory?
That match in April. Stop mentioning it now, please!
