Reds starlets volunteer at Claire House
As part of the continued partnership between Liverpool FC and Claire House Children's Hospice, six U18 Academy players recently volunteered their time to work at the charity’s St Helens shop.
The LFC players got stuck into the different store jobs, including working behind the till, replenishing stock and serving customers on the shop floor. Forming part of the player's continued weekly community work activities.
The six players relished the opportunity to provide support at the shop for an afternoon and even brought along some of their own belongings to donate to the charity.
Conor Randall, captain of the U18s, commented: "It's great to come down to one of Claire House's charity shops to help provide support for the regular volunteers who do this day in, day out.
"We regularly visit the kids who are cared for at the Hospice, so to come and see the important work that goes into helping fundraise the money to look after them is really important."
Claire House has a chain of charity shops across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales, which sell a selection of goods, including clothes for all the family, accessories, books, DVDs, toys and bric-a brac.
The shops are an essential way to help fundraise the £2.7million yearly cost to help the children's hospice continue providing the very best care to young people.
