Sturridge fit for England clash
Daniel Sturridge has declared himself 'fit and raring to go' for England's friendly with Germany on Tuesday evening.
The Liverpool striker missed the Three Lions' clash with Chile on Friday night due to a foot injury, but will be involved when Joachim Low's side visit Wembley.
"I've had a lot of treatment over the last few days, I've been working hard to make sure I'm okay," said Sturridge.
"I'm going to go out on the training field today and I'm raring to go for the game."
While Tuesday's game may only be a friendly, with just one more fixture against Denmark in March to follow before Roy Hodgson names his squad for the 2014 World Cup finals, Sturridge knows it's an opportunity make his case for a ticket to Brazil next summer.
He said: "For every individual to play against a country that plays great football, they've got world-class players, it's going to be a great occasion for the fans and the players to enjoy.
"There are two games now before the manager selects his squad and it's important that everybody stakes their claim, and that nobody's taking it for granted.
"It's important to just play well at your club and when the opportunities come to play for England, you take them and try to stake your claim to go to the World Cup.
"God willing I will remain fit and then I'm sure the opportunities will be there and I'll be able to take them."
