U18s draw in six-goal Toon thriller
Liverpool U18s were held to a draw by Newcastle on Saturday after an enthralling encounter in the north east finished 3-3.
Neil Critchley's side found themselves on the back-foot in the tie when the Magpies surged to a two-goal lead at Little Benton, thanks to strikes from Jonathyn Quinn and Macauley Booth.
However, the young Reds fought back. Ryan Kent halved the deficit on the stroke of half-time after Sergi Canos' effort was pushed into his path by the Toon goalkeeper.
Sam Hart's dart down the right flank helped carve an equaliser, as he crossed for Jerome Sinclair, who breezed past his man at the near post to apply a deadly finish.
Liverpool then took the lead through Harry Wilson, who burst clear of the Newcastle defence and executed a delicate chip over the onrushing 'keeper to make it 3-2.
However, with time ticking away in the game, Newcastle substitute Tom Heardman turned home a free-kick with his first touch to give Dave Watson's side a point.
The Reds' U18s are next in action against Manchester United at the Kirkby Academy on Saturday, December 7 - a game you can watch exclusively live on LFC TV and LFCTV Online.
