Jordan Henderson has called on his Liverpool teammates to replicate their outstanding form at home when they venture south to challenge Tottenham Hotspur in seven days' time.

A 4-1 victory over West Ham United on Saturday catapulted the Reds into second place in the Barclays Premier League and extended their home record in 2013-14 to seven wins out of eight.

Results away from L4 have been a different story, however, with Henderson and co securing all three points only twice - at Aston Villa and Sunderland - from their seven fixtures on the road so far this season.

The midfielder, who has started every one of his team's Premier League matches in the current campaign, now wants a carbon copy of recent performances at Anfield away from Merseyside.

He told Sky Sports: "We have been working really well together in training. We are a very close group; we have just been working really hard and it has been paying off. Hopefully we can take this form on the road as well.

"Tottenham have got some fantastic players, they are a great team. It will be a really difficult place to go, but it's a big test for us. There's a lot of confidence in the group, so we've got to go there and put on a good performance."

Reflecting on yesterday's emphatic result against the Hammers, Henderson pinpointed the side's reaction to conceding in the second half as a crucial factor in the final scoreline.

"It was really important in midweek and today that we put on a good performance and got both wins. We're delighted with the performance and the result today," the 23-year-old said.

"We were a little bit disappointed to let them back in the game at 2-0. But I thought we reacted really well. When we went 3-1 up, that killed the game. Overall, it was very pleasing."
