Brendan's praise for Moses response
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has spoken at length about his faith in on-loan attacker Victor Moses and how the Nigerian international can contribute importantly in the second half of the season.
The 23-year-old opened his Anfield career with a stunning dribble and strike on his debut for the club against Swansea City back in September, and has since made a total of 15 appearances.
After a frustrating first half when the Reds hosted Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup last weekend, Rodgers withdrew the Chelsea forward at the break, alongside fellow summer signing Luis Alberto.
When looking ahead to Sunday's clash with Stoke City, however, the Northern Irishman was keen to explain the decision and stress why Moses can be a valuable asset for Liverpool.
Rodgers said at his pre-match press conference: "In fairness to Victor, he was taken off in the weekend's game, but his reaction has been outstanding.
"We have spoken clearly about the demands and expectation at a big club and what's needed. His talent hasn't gone away.
"He's still very much a part of the squad here and he's very happy here. Of course, every player wants to play more. But he's obviously learning, like he did at Chelsea, the demands of being at a big club.
"I'm delighted to have him here and there's no doubt, over the course of his time here, he'll show the talent that he is. Victor is a good boy - he comes in every day to work.
"We are talking about areas in which to improve his game; it's a different way of working as well, with the intensity that we demand every single day on the training field and in the games.
"That's something that is still part of the adaptation for him. But I'm very happy he's here and I'm sure he'll have a big contribution to make in the second part of the season."
