Steven Gerrard's potential role as a deep-lying, patrolling midfielder is just one of the hot topics to be broached on the new episode of LFC TV's Press Box.

The latest edition of our hour-long show, which sees three respected pundits from across the media pour over the current news and views, airs at 4pm GMT today.

We'll have the final say on an important win over Stoke and look ahead to the visit of Aston Villa, talk FA Cup kick-off times and much more, including Gerrard's proposed new position.

Our guests will reflect on the recent Ballon d'Or ceremony, which saw Cristiano Ronaldo wrestle the crown from four-time winner Lionel Messi. And one question pervades - could this year be the year of Luis Suarez?

LFC TV presenter Steve Hothersall is the regular host of Press Box, and he brings more than 16 years' broadcasting experience to the fore as he chairs our weekly debate.

Regular Radio City listeners will recognise Steve's dulcet tones as that of the long-suffering partner and comical foil to the brilliant John Aldridge on matchdays.

Steve is the station editor for City Talk 105.9 and arrived at LFC TV in 2013, helping to present news bulletins and Academy broadcasts. He'll be joined by three figures from around the world of journalism in our latest show.

First up will be one of the BBC's key sport correspondents, Ben Smith - who makes only his third Press Box appearance.

Based in London, Ben reports across the sporting spectrum on radio, online and on television, meeting and interrogating the stars while keeping a finger firmly on the breaking news pulse.

He joined the Sunday Times in June 2007 and was appointed deputy sports editor in December 2010, before moving to the BBC in April 2012.

James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo is a regular guest on Press Box - and he's on hand to offer his views in the latest instalment.

His role as the Echo's LFC correspondent requires keeping close tabs on goings on at Anfield and an intuitive understanding of the club and its supporters.

He's perfectly placed to cut to the heart of the issues that matter at Melwood, and he's made the short trip from the Echo on Old Hall Street to the LFC TV studio on Chapel Street to join the panel.

Graham Beecroft made his Press Box debut earlier this season - and has been one of the show's stand-out performers so far, racking up more appearances than any other guest.

Graham was sports editor at both BBC Radio Merseyside and Radio City during the 1980s and 1990s, when he took in and reported on an extraordinary range of highs and lows with the Reds.

From 2004 to 2007, 'Beeky' co-presented the breakfast show on talkSPORT alongside Alan Brazil, where he cemented his name as a popular broadcasting figure - and he'll be on today's show.
