'Take the positives and move forward'
Kolo Toure insists Liverpool must put Saturday's 2-2 draw against Aston Villa firmly behind them and focus on an instant return to winning ways over the coming week.
The Ivorian admits his side's first-half showing at Anfield was below par as Andreas Weimann and Christian Benteke handed the visitors a two-goal cushion inside 35 minutes.
However, he believes the Reds responded positively when they pulled the game level thanks to a Daniel Sturridge dink and a clinical penalty from Steven Gerrard.
The centre-back is calling for focus ahead of Liverpool's next test - a long journey south to face Championship outfit Bournemouth in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
After that, Everton make the short trip across Stanley Park for this season's Anfield Merseyside derby - and Toure insists there's still plenty to play for between now and the end of the campaign.
He said: "For us, we just need to think about the next game 100 per cent, try to win and be positive. What we have done so far no-one was expecting at the start of the season.
"We need to take that on board and just keep going. When you have hard times you see a strong team and we are a strong team.
"The first half was very hard but the reaction from the team was great after going 2-0 down to a good Villa side - last year they won here and it wasn't easy for us.
"We got a point and that showed the character of the team. We don't want to lose and that is very important, especially at home.
"Other teams will make errors. We just need to maintain our focus and believe in ourselves. In 16 games a lot can happen."
