Starlets cut ribbon at Claire House opening
A trio of Liverpool's Academy talents provided their support to a children's hospice on Merseyside yesterday by opening Claire House's newest charity shop.
U18 starlets Daniel Cleary, Connor Randall and Jerome Sinclair were in attendance at the official launch on Tuesday, cutting the ribbon at the premises on Childwall Abbey Road in Childwall.
The shop, the 28th of its kind in the region, will bolster the work of the hospice, which offers care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions across the county - and their families.
Randall commented: "It's been great to come down to help support Claire House by opening the new store.
"After visiting the kids at the hospice, you can see how important these shops are in helping to raise the money needed to provide the great care that Claire House do for so many kids and families."
The opening was the latest episode in the continuing partnership between LFC and Claire House, which includes regular visits to the hospice and volunteering by representatives of the Academy.
Simon Dodd, the organisation's head of retail, said: "It's a privilege to have the lads from the Liverpool Academy officially open our new shop.
"The boys are all really generous with their time for Claire House and their presence at the shop opening certainly drew in the crowds.
"The people of Childwall have already shown so much support for the new shop; I hope that having Jerome, Connor, Dan and Liverpool FC on board will inspire them to get involved even more."
