Raheem: There's huge belief in this team
Raheem Sterling turned in a man of the match display during Liverpool's stunning 5-1 victory over Arsenal and afterwards spoke of the confidence that is coursing through the current squad.
The 19-year-old was in scintillating form from start to finish during the demolition job at Anfield, chipping in with a goal in each half as the Reds ran riot.
Sterling's pace on the ball helped the home side carve the Barclays Premier League leaders to shreds throughout a whirlwind opening 20 minutes.
And the youngster led by example as he helped press the opposition and win the ball back in advanced areas as the Gunners were rocked in front of the Kop.
"Everyone is buzzing," Sterling reflected. "We're delighted we got the three points and we're really happy.
"There's a massive belief in the team, but we're just taking it step by step and each game that comes.
"We're just trying to get the three points. That's what we did today, and we'll just go again against Fulham on Wednesday and then Arsenal on Saturday. We'll take it step by step and hopefully we can be right up there at the end of the season."
Much has been made of Liverpool's persistence in pressing the ball and denying Arsenal time or space in possession, especially throughout the first half.
The likes of Jordan Henderson, Philippe Coutinho and Steven Gerrard hunted the play down in twos and threes and forced the Gunners, typically comfortable in possession, to surrender the ball.
Sterling played his part too - and the youngster revealed it was all part of the manager's pre-match instructions to his players.
"The manager just told us to press them on the front foot and try to get onto people and win the ball," said Sterling. "Then it was a case of going from there and playing on the counter attack and that's what we did and we got a few goals from it again."
