Liverpool Ladies enjoyed a winning start to pre-season when they claimed a 2-0 win away at Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.

Matt Beard's reigning Women's Super League champions produced an impressive display and all four new signings made their debut.

Goal machine Natasha Dowie continued where she left off from last season when she fired the opener after 20 minutes after being set up by Nicole Rolser.

New signing Gemma Davison then made her mark when she provided the assist for Amanda Da Costa to make it 2-0.

In the second half Beard was able to hand a first appearance at senior level for promising development players Ashley Hodson and Hannah Dale.
