Liverpool FC's official Google+ account today reached the 3million mark – are you following the Reds on the free social media platform yet?

More than 2.5million supporters from across the world enjoy the latest news, interviews, photos, YouTube videos and features from behind the scenes by following the club on Google+.

Today, the aggregated total of '+s' on the page passed 3million, the third-highest total for any team in the Barclays Premier League, and a quadrupling in less than 18 months.

Among the benefits of joining the social media service and tracking the club's daily activity is the opportunity to communicate with other fans from any part of the globe.

In November 2013, Liverpool hosted its first-ever Google+ Hangout - with defender Kolo Toure participating in a 25-minute live chat with Kopites, which was highlighted by a Daniel Sturridge cameo.
