Hendo: We've already moved on to Cardiff
It may have been the latest in a series of highlights for Liverpool, but Jordan Henderson insists all thoughts of beating Manchester United have been put to the back of the players’ minds as they seek to extend their winning run this weekend.
The Reds secured a comprehensive 3-0 victory at Old Trafford to move back into second place in the Barclays Premier League table with a performance that will live long in the memory.
However, while fans still bask in the glow of an outstanding afternoon's work, Henderson is adamant that all thoughts within the camp will now be switched to trying to collect another three points when Brendan Rodgers' charges travel to Cardiff City on Saturday.
"It was a big win but it was just another game for us really," said the midfielder.
"We went there trying to do the same thing, put on a good performance, get three points and thankfully we did that so we can move on to the next performance and hopefully win that.
"We knew it was a massive game but we have been brilliant of late and we felt as though we were capable of doing what we have been doing all season and have a really good chance of winning the game.
"We dominated from start to finish and I am very pleased in that respect, but we just move on to this week against Cardiff, that will be a difficult task as we are away from home so we need to prepare well for that."
Despite Liverpool's position in the table - four points behind leaders Chelsea with a game in hand - Henderson claims no-one at Melwood is about to start getting carried away.
Instead, the 23-year-old states they will remain true to the tried and tested method of refusing to focus on anything other than what's at stake in the next game.
Henderson added: "I am sure they will but we have just got to keep focused on what we are trying to do as a team and take each game as it comes and not get too carried away.
"That will start again next week against Cardiff and we will see where we are at the end of the season."
