Istanbul hero shocks fans on holiday
Champions League hero Vladimir Smicer surprised Liverpool fans in Vietnam last week by taking time out from his family holiday to attend a meet and greet session with supporters in Da Nang.
The former Reds star - who scored in both open play and from the spot in the 2005 Champions League final - was visiting Vietnam for the first time, but it didn't take long for the local fans to let him know just how much both he and his former club meant to them.
After greeting supporters who turned out to meet him in Vietnamese, Smicer spent time answering questions on both his Liverpool career and the form of the current team.
Asked prior to the wins over both Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur whether he thought Brendan Rodgers could win the title this year, Smicer told fans: "Yes, of course. Liverpool are in such good form right now that there's no reason why we shouldn't hope for the club's 19th title."
The former Czech Republic international then juggled tennis balls to the delight of fans, took charge of a Liverpool quiz, signed autographs and then proceeded to end the evening singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' with the fans.
