Goal machine Dowie strikes again
Defending Women's Super League champions Liverpool Ladies warmed up for the new season in style with a resounding 4-0 victory over Millwall Lionesses at the weekend.
England star Natasha Dowie, whose goals fired the Reds to the title, netted twice as Matt Beard's side continued their unbeaten record in pre-season.
New signing Martha Harris also netted her first goal in a red shirt and Fara Williams was also on the mark.
Beard's charges start their new season on Sunday, April 13 when they travel to Sunderland in the Women's FA Cup fifth round. Kick-off will be at 2.07pm BST.
The ladies begin their defence of the title with a home game against Manchester City on Thursday, April 17, at the Select Security Stadium in Widnes.
