Ahead of Liverpool's clash with West Ham United on Sunday, we sought the lowdown on the opposition from Hammers fan Vinny Genco, who has concerns if Brendan Rodgers' side produce their best.

Talk us through West Ham's season so far - how satisfied are you with performances?

To be honest, it could have been a lot better. I think we're overachieving in parts at the moment. The calibre of football we're playing just isn't up to much, but you can't really complain with where we are in the league.

You're just coming into a good run of form, so the team must have some confidence heading into the game against Liverpool?

I think so, but when you look at the Manchester United game, we had a chance there to do something but I think we bottled it - we didn't push them. The way Liverpool are playing at the moment, you've got to worry if they are on top form. But if we play to our strengths, then I think we've got half a chance. With Andy Carroll against your defence, which has not been the strongest this season, we've got a little bit of a chance.

How will Sam Allardyce set his team up? Can we expect a 4-5-1 formation?

Most probably, it seems to be his favoured choice this year - one up top, balls into the box and hope Andy Carroll can get on the end of something.

Who have been your star performers so far this season?

Stewart Downing has done well, especially given what everyone seems to think of him. But, to me, Mark Noble has been the engine all year in defensive midfield; he has held it and everything seems to come through him. He really should be pushing for an England spot.

You have three former Liverpool players in Carroll, Joe Cole and Downing - how have they performed since you signed them?

Carroll has obviously had his injuries, but since he has been back he seems to be doing alright. Joe Cole, we haven't really seen much of him this season with general injuries; he started off alright but I haven't seen enough of him this year. Downing seems to improve against the lower reputation teams - he performs a lot better when there's less pressure on him. He's doing alright, he just needs to work on his finishing.

Other than the obvious answers of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez, who has most impressed you for Liverpool this season?

Mignolet was a great signing; Pepe Reina was good, but I really like Mignolet. Henderson is obviously having a good season at the moment, and Sterling seems like he's ready for the step up as well.

As a neutral, what is your assessment of the battle at the top of the Barclays Premier League?

I still think Manchester City are favourites, with the games in hand. But I can see Liverpool pushing until the end. They have got Chelsea and City still to play - if they can get something there, then I think they are well within a shout.

And finally, what's your prediction for Sunday?

3-1 to Liverpool.
