Luis Suarez would be spoiled for choice to pick a favourite moment from another prolific month in March, but it is probably no surprise that the Uruguayan selected a certain back-heel at Cardiff City.

With an hour played in Wales and Liverpool leading the home side 3-2, a Reds raid along the right flank brought the ball to Daniel Sturridge, seemingly without enough space to create inside the box.

The No.15 had other ideas, though, and produced an unfathomable flick which married perfectly with his onrushing strike partner to allow Suarez to hammer a finish home and extend the cushion.

A hat-trick would ultimately follow for the Barclays Premier League top scorer, who registered six times in five appearances in March, but what was the highlight for the unstoppable No.7 himself?

"I'll go for the hat-trick at Cardiff and keeping the match ball as my biggest achievement of the month," Suarez explained to Match magazine.

"That was my sixth hat-trick since joining Liverpool. The goal where Daniel Sturridge back-heeled the ball for the assist was probably my favourite goal of the lot."

The 27-year-old has been a central figure in the drama of this Premier League season, finding the back of the net on 29 occasions and providing 11 assists - both league-leading statistics.

He reflected: "You always want to improve as you progress through the different seasons. If you don't want to constantly improve, then you might as well give up.

"I've had some good seasons in the past, with some very good strike partners, but this season has felt very good and I'm really enjoying my football."

Having overcome West Ham United 2-1 with a narrow victory on Sunday, the Reds achieved a ninth successive win and reclaimed a two-point advantage at the summit of the standings.

Suarez echoed the sentiments of his manager and teammates, however, in insisting that the side must navigate merely one fixture at a time, rather than looking too far into the future.

"We're not getting carried away with the talk of a possible trophy," he commented. "It's obviously nice for the fans to believe and be excited.

"But it's our responsibility as players to concentrate on the next team we face, do our best on the pitch and we'll see what happens in May."
