Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has followed up his Standard Chartered Player of the Month honour by scooping the Reds' Goal of the Month award for March too, in association with EA SPORTS.

The No.8 was on the scoresheet four times during the club's five fixtures, finding the target from 12 yards against Southampton before successfully converting a brace of spot-kicks against Manchester United.

But it was his powerful, curling free-kick to break the deadlock against Sunderland on March 26 which won a closely-fought contest by collecting 30 per cent of almost 3,000 votes cast by supporters in our online poll.

Philippe Coutinho's daisy-cutting piledriver past Tottenham Hotspur in Liverpool's final tie of the month claimed second place, while Luis Suarez's individual effort in the same match took third spot.

Completing the top five for March were a fine solo dribble and finish by Welsh youngster Harry Wilson for the U18s and the combination between Daniel Sturridge and Suarez which allowed the latter to fire his second at Cardiff City.
