Flares and pyrotechnics are illegal
A number of fans have been in contact with the club to complain about the use of smoke bombs and pyrotechnics at both home and away games and the dangerous effects they cause.
Liverpool Football Club would like to remind fans that smoke bombs, pyrotechnics or anything similar are illegal and any individual who is found taking these items to Anfield or any other stadium may face prosecution and a banning order.
The club has seen an increase in incidents involving flares and smoke bombs, most recently outside of Anfield stadium before kick-off at the Manchester City match. The use of such devices breaches ground safety regulations and poses serious risk of injury to fellow fans.
Whilst the Club greatly appreciates the loyal support of its fan base, it will not back those individuals who choose to break the law and will support the police in obtaining a football banning order where appropriate.
