Suarez voted as PFA Player of the Year
The unstoppable exploits of Luis Suarez this season were acknowledged by his peers on Sunday evening, as the Liverpool forward collected the PFA Players' Player of the Year honour at a special ceremony in London.
One of three Reds representatives to be included on the six-man shortlist for the prize nine days ago, the Uruguayan saw off serious competition from teammates Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge to take the trophy.
It was fitting reward for a campaign in which the No.7 has bedazzled the Barclays Premier League, combining an unflinching will to win with innate creativity and technique in a string of momentous performances.
Suarez has been a central component of his team's challenge at the summit of the division, leading the scoring charts with 30 goals in 31 appearances and providing a league-high 12 assists in the process too.
Those statistics have clearly reverberated around the country as, 12 months after being voted in second place for the same award, the 27-year-old was presented with this year's individual accolade at the Grosvenor House.
Reacting to the announcement, Suarez commented: "The Premier League is full of really great players and so it is a great honour when these players recognise your work on the pitch.
"I always try my best for the team and it is nice to get awards but really this is for my teammates and the staff at Liverpool, because without their help I wouldn't have this prize."

All three Liverpool stars were also included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year. The XI in full was confirmed as: Petr Cech, Seamus Coleman, Gary Cahill, Vincent Kompany, Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Steven Gerrard, Yaya Toure, Eden Hazard, Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suarez.
Sturridge, who himself has found the target 23 times in all competitions for the Reds so far this season, had been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award too, alongside Anfield colleague Raheem Sterling.
The duo were denied by Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard, however, who scooped the prize, with the No.15 taking second place behind the Belgian and Southampton defender Luke Shaw completing the top three.
Liverpool Ladies had cause for celebration too; defender Lucy Bronze was presented with the PFA Women's Players' Player of the Year accolade, after helping her team lift the Women's Super League championship last season.
December signing Martha Harris, meanwhile, formerly of Lincoln Ladies, claimed the Women's Young Player of the Year title to round off an evening of success and recognition for the club.
