Sakho takes Paris starlets to Anfield
Mamadou Sakho gave 16 youngsters from Paris Football Club the trip of a lifetime when they had the opportunity to train and play at Anfield.
The Parisian guests took part in a training session at Melwood and then enjoyed a friendly match against the Academy under 11s team at Anfield.
During his spell with Paris Saint Germain, Mamadou was involved in community football projects, which is something that he has continued at LFC.
The 23-year-old French International became an ambassador for the club's charity, Liverpool FC Foundation last year. The Foundation delivers a range of sport inspired programmes within the local community and beyond that inspires positive change and helps to build better futures for people of all ages.
Over the last six months Mamadou has worked closely with All Saints Primary School in Anfield, assisting Foundation community coaches, who deliver football sessions at the school each week, as well as helping pupils with the speaking and reading elements of their French Language studies.
Sakho said: "I am really passionate about giving something back to the local community and providing young people with the type of opportunities that I would have loved access to when I was a boy.
"The past two days have been a great experience for the youngsters from Paris FC. I think it's important for young people to travel and meet like-minded individuals from a different culture. I am blessed to be able to facilitate such a trip that I know they will remember for the rest of their lives."
Mark Haig, Liverpool FC Foundation's head of operations, added: "Mamadou is a really passionate and committed ambassador for Foundation and his work in the local community continues to have a positive impact."
