'World Stars': Silva's incredible story
The latest episode of LFCTV's 'World Stars' series charts the remarkable career story of Brazil captain Thiago Silva, who has overcome a succession of setbacks to join an elite group of centre-backs in world football.
As excitement grows ahead of the eagerly anticipated FIFA World Cup this summer, Liverpool's official television channel is broadcasting 20 special programmes, focusing on a different individual tipped to shine at the festival in South America.
Each day, the show will document the personal path of a star name, incorporating match footage, exclusive interviews and the views of colleagues to unearth the drives and determinations inside the player in question.
'World Stars' launched last week on LFCTV with three editions centred on Reds representatives - Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez deservedly took centre stage ahead of their challenge with England and Uruguay respectively.
Vignettes on Argentinian superstar Lionel Messi and Germany playmaker Mesut Ozil followed this week, and now it is the turn of Brazil defender Silva, who recovered from rejection and serious illness to become one of the game's most effective stoppers.
