Fittingly, it all starts with Steven Gerrard – the captain takes composed control of a loose ball and calmly lofts a pass into the path of John Arne Riise, who instantly scampers along the left flank.
It is May 25, 2005 and the scene is the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul; Liverpool's dreams of a fifth European Cup triumph are in tatters, with AC Milan having taken a commanding 3-0 half-time lead.

As the clock ticks onto 53:04, the captain strains every sinew to leap high and powerfully glance an inch-perfect header past the reach of goalkeeper Dida and into the top corner of the Italians' net.
Hope. And so begins a period of football that all Liverpool supporters who witnessed it will pass on to their children, their children's children and beyond - and rightly, necessarily, so.
From the depths of potentially squandering an opportunity for glory, the Reds find themselves on level terms with Milan just seven minutes, 420 seconds, later and everything has changed.
