Pics: Trio figure as England sign off
Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling and Steven Gerrard figured as England signed off from their World Cup campaign with a goalless draw against Costa Rica.
In their final group game, the Three Lions played out a tame stalemate in Belo Horizonte to claim their first point of the tournament.
Sturridge was the only Liverpool man in Roy Hodgson's much-changed starting line up - and it was he who had the game's first real chance, curling agonisingly wide of the post with 11 minutes on the clock.
Then, having had a penalty appeal waved away, the Reds forward looped a header narrowly over from Phil Jones's nod back into the danger zone from a corner.
On 62 minutes, Sterling entered the action as a substitute in an attempt to inject some pace into England's forward forays. Steven Gerrard arrived into the contest shortly after.
England had chances to win the encounter at the death, but were forced to settle for a point ahead of their return to the UK.
