As Anfield prepares for the return of Champions League football on Tuesday, the latest episode of One Moment In Time, which is available to LFCTV GO subscribers, goes back to 1977 and recalls one of the most famous nights in the stadium's history.

As Bob Paisley's men eyed their very first European Cup triumph in 1977, French champions Saint-Etienne stood in their way, and following a 1-0 defeat in the first leg the return game at Anfield was full of anticipation, nerves and noise.

Kevin Keegan's opener was soon cancelled out by Dominique Bathenay's wonder striker throwing the game into uncertainty.

Ray Kennedy fired the Reds back into the lead after the break before one of the club's greatest moments was played out in the dying moment as David Fairclough came off the bench to score a dramatic winning goal.

The Reds went on to European glory that year, defeating Borussia Monchengladbach in the Rome final, but Fairclough remembers that glory night at Anfield and the minutes that led to his moment in time.

Recalling his moment of glory, Fairclough said: "Ray Kennedy helped the ball down the field aware that the space was there. I went on a chase, managed to hold off the defender, took a touch with the outside of my right foot and as the goal opened up the keeper came off his line and then it was all about choosing my moment to take the shot.

"Luckily for me the ball went under his body and one of the greatest roars there has ever been at Anfield followed the goal."
