Liverpool's vice-captain Jordan Henderson today spoke of his belief that the Reds will rekindle their finest form after two wins and two defeats from their opening Barclays Premier League fixtures.

The 24-year-old, who was installed as understudy to club skipper Steven Gerrard on Monday, has travelled with the squad to London ahead of the team's clash with West Ham United at Upton Park this evening.

Henderson has played every minute of the 2014-15 campaign so far, turning in a series of trademark, industrious displays in the middle of the park.

He helped Brendan Rodgers' side open the season with a victory against Southampton, featured in the defeat to Manchester City and thrived as Tottenham Hotspur were swept aside six days later at White Hart Lane.

The 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Anfield last weekend was a setback for the Reds; however, while Henderson admits there is room for improvement, he fully expects to see consistency come to the fore over the coming weeks.

"We all know we can do better," he told the Liverpool Echo. "We've not hit top form yet but there have been positive signs.

"I feel as though we've been dominating games with the ball but when teams sit back and make it difficult we need to find solutions to that.

"We have a lot of quality players with the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Steven Gerrard, Mario Balotelli and Raheem Sterling, and I'm sure we'll hit top form very soon."
