Rickie Lambert makes his Barclays Premier League starting debut for Liverpool in today's clash against West Bromwich Albion at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers hands the local lad his first league start as part of three alterations to the side that faced FC Basel during the 1-0 Champions League defeat in Switzerland on Wednesday.

Lambert replaces Mario Balotelli, Adam Lallana is restored to the starting XI in place of Lazar Markovic and Alberto Moreno resumes responsibilities at left-back in place of Jose Enrique.

Dejan Lovren, Martin Skrtel and Javier Manquillo complete the Reds' rearguard, while Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson bolster the midfield with Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho supplementing the attack.

Glen Johnson returns to the Reds' matchday squad for the first time since sustaining a thigh injury against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on August 25. He joins Italian duo Balotelli and Fabio Borini on a strong substitutes' bench for the Reds.

Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Manquillo, Moreno, Lovren, Skrtel, Gerrard, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling, Lambert.

Substitutes: Jones, Toure, Johnson, Lucas, Markovic, Borini, Balotelli.
