Liverpool Ladies defender Lucy Bronze 'cannot wait' for the Reds' first ever game in the Women's Champions League but is fully aware of the tough test awaiting the reigning Women's Super League champions this evening.

Following Sunday's dramatic 3-3 draw at Arsenal Ladies, attention now turns to Europe's elite competition as Matt Beard's side enter the tournament for the first time in the club's history.

Tonight's much-anticipated encounter against Linkopings FC gets underway at 6.30pm BST at the Select Security Stadium in Widnes and the Ladies would appreciate your support. Click here for details on purchasing tickets.

England international Bronze said: "Personally, I cannot wait for the game as it is fantastic to be able to test yourself against the best players in Europe.

"A few players, myself included, have been involved in the competition previously but for the club it's the first time ever so it promises to be a massive occasion.

"The fact that both the men and women will be in the Champions League at the same time is brilliant and you can feel a real buzz amongst everyone at the club."

Bronze's enthusiasm towards the game is evident, but the Liverpool No.6 insists Linkopings will provide Beard's charges with a stern test.

She added: "Having watched a couple of their matches I know that they are a very talented team without having that one stand-out player.

"They remind me of ourselves really, as they are always there or thereabouts in the league, pushing for top spot. We are under no illusions as to how difficult a game it will be so we will have to perform if we are to get a positive result going into the second leg.

"Wednesday will be a great night for Liverpool Ladies and competing in the Women's Champions League will highlight just how far we have come in such a short space of time."
