Martin Skrtel captained Slovakia to a third successive win in Euro 2016 qualifying on Sunday night, with a batch of late goals securing a 3-1 victory away at Belarus in Group C.

The Liverpool defender's country had recorded an historic triumph over Spain on Thursday and followed up that momentous occasion at the Borisov Arena this evening.

Marek Hamsik gave the Slovakians an advantage midway through the second half of the encounter, only for the hosts' skipper, Timofei Kalachev, to equalise with little over 10 minutes remaining.

But Hamsik restored a lead which was further cushioned by a strike from Stanislav Sestak in stoppage time, ensuring Skrtel - who played the entire match - could celebrate again.
