Jerome Sinclair admits Liverpool U19s cannot wait for their UEFA Youth League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday as the young Reds aim to bounce back from their defeat in Basel.

Kick-off against the Spanish heavyweights at Langtree Park is at 2pm BST and subscribers can watch the game live on LFCTV GO with our coverage starting at 1.45pm. Click here for details.

While the Academy No.9 insists Neil Critchley's charges have a lot of respect for their opponents, he claims they are not daunted by the prospect of facing last season's semi-finalists.

"We are playing against Real Madrid but we know that we are Liverpool and we are as big as anybody so I'm sure they will be thinking the same thing," Sinclair told Liverpoolfc.com.

"We have to take into consideration the opposition that we are playing against but of course we want to go and impose our style and play our way against them and show how good we are."

After a win over Ludogorets Razgrad in their opening game and the loss against FC Basel, Sinclair knows the young Reds need to get back on track in a competition they are playing in for the first time.

He added: "We need to go out there and get a result. If we can get a good result home and away against Real Madrid, then that will put us in good stead in this group.

"It's a tough competition because you are playing against the best young players in Europe and it's fantastic for us as a group to be involved in it.

"It's gone well for me so far and I've managed to grab a few goals so hopefully I can keep playing well, scoring goals and help the team.

"The team is the most important thing and if we work hard we can get a good result. Everyone is looking forward to it and it's going to be a really good test for us."
