Anticipating a challenging contest when Liverpool meet Queens Park Rangers this afternoon, Jordan Henderson has urged his teammates to focus on registering 'as high as possible' performance levels – and the ideal result could follow.

The Reds will run out at Loftus Road seeking to record back-to-back victories in the Barclays Premier League for the first time this season, having secured a 2-1 win against West Bromwich Albion 15 days ago.

Henderson, whose second-half strike ultimately ended the Baggies' resistance last time out, feels Brendan Rodgers' charges are gradually rekindling the type of top-class display that brought such rich rewards in 2013-14.

The vice-captain is determined to witness more of the same in today's 1.30pm BST kick-off too. "It's important to build up a good run and build confidence even more," the midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com.

"But the most important thing is the performance level and we need to make sure that's as high as possible in every game we go into. That's what we'll be looking to do on Sunday - play to the best of our ability and put in a good performance.

"It will be a difficult game, they are always difficult games in the Premier League. I don't think they've had a great run of late, but I'm sure when we come to their ground they'll be right up for the game and will want to beat us.

"So we need to make sure we approach the game in the right way and we play with the confidence that we have been. Hopefully, if we work hard and do the right things, then we can get a good result."

To date in this campaign, the Reds have played four matches away from home and suffered a reversal on three occasions - a statistic that Henderson acknowledges must be improved and one he expects to.

The England international reflected: "With the talent and quality we've got in the team, we should be doing better than that. We know that.

"But with the recent performances, I feel we've been very good and back to the level we showed last season. Hopefully we can carry that on and build up a few back-to-back wins."
