Two weeks ago Adam Lallana grabbed his first Liverpool goal to the delight of the Anfield crowd – and today he'll be hoping to plunder his 50th career strike in the league when the Reds face Hull City.

Lallana lit up the afternoon with his nimble footwork when he danced beyond four West Bromwich Albion shirts, exchanged passes with Jordan Henderson, curled into the net and sprinted away in frenzied celebration.

The former Southampton man, whose first league goal arrived against Queens Park Rangers in the Championship in September 2008 (above), will be hoping to make it a half-century by firing against Steve Bruce's side.

Last season, Liverpool won 2-0 against Hull at Anfield on New Year's Day. Two players no longer at Anfield found the net, Daniel Agger on 37 minutes and Luis Suarez just after half-time.

That victory came a month after Hull had beaten the Reds 3-1 at the KC Stadium with goals from Jake Livermore, David Meyler and a Martin Skrtel own goal. Steven Gerrard had equalised for the Reds.

It was Hull's first ever victory over Liverpool and it came in the 17th meeting in all competitions. The Reds had won 12 of the previous clashes.

There have been six meetings in total in the Premier League era with Liverpool winning three, drawing two and losing one.

At Anfield, Liverpool have won five of the six league meetings with the other game ending in a 2-2 draw in 2008-09 when Hull led 2-0 only to concede two Steven Gerrard goals.

Gerrard has scored more goals against Hull - four in five appearances - than any other player in Liverpool history. Only one Liverpool player has scored a league hat-trick against City - Fernando Torres in 2009.

Liverpool have failed to score in only one of the 12 league meetings between the sides. The Reds have scored 10 times in their three home games against Hull in the Premier League.

Glen Johnson's only career goal against Hull came as a Portsmouth player almost six years ago. The ninth goal of Rickie Lambert's professional career was scored against the Tigers in 2001-02 while he was a Macclesfield player.

Manager Steve Bruce has recorded five wins as a boss during his career in 23 meetings with the Reds in all competitions - three with Birmingham and one each with Sunderland and Hull.

In league games he has lost only six of 19 meetings while in charge of his clubs, winning five. Overall, as manager of the Tigers, he has won 36 of his 92 league games in charge.

Last season Hull finished 16th in the Premier League, their best ever placing in their history and recorded their highest number of points - 37. Their three away league wins came at Newcastle United, Sunderland and Cardiff City.

Their leading scorers were Shane Long, now with Southampton, and Nikica Jelavic with four apiece, with both players only being signed in the January transfer window.

This season they have won two of their eight league games - 1-0 at Queens Park Rangers on the opening day and 2-0 at home to Crystal Palace earlier this month.

They have scored in all eight league games of this campaign - one of only three top-flight teams to do so, the others being Chelsea and Everton.

Five of the 10 points they have earned in the Premier League this season have come away from home. Since that win at QPR they have lost on the road at Aston Villa and recorded 2-2 draws at Newcastle and Arsenal.

Hull played in European competition this season for the first time in their history. They beat AS Trencin of Slovakia before losing out to Belgian side Lokeren on away goals in the qualifying play-off round of the Europa League.

They also departed the League Cup - beaten 3-2 by West Brom at the Hawthorns after leading with just three minutes to go.

Paul McShane scored for Hull on the only occasion they have avoided defeat at Anfield - in December 2008. Their other goal in the 2-2 draw was a Jamie Carragher own goal.
