Daniel's pledge to Liverpool supporters
Daniel Sturridge has pledged that he will seek to hit the goal trail immediately upon his return from injury, with his confidence unshaken that Liverpool can claim success in 2014-15.
The 25-year-old striker has been a frustrated observer for the Reds since August 31, having originally picked up a thigh issue that was then disappointingly followed by a calf problem as he neared a comeback.
In his absence, Brendan Rodgers' side have taken up seventh place in the Barclays Premier League, tackled three Champions League fixtures and, on Tuesday evening, progressed to the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.
Sturridge is determined to supplement that challenge on a variety of fronts when he is declared available for action, and has explained why he envisages a bright future ahead personally and collectively.
"The message to fans is when I come back I'm always looking to score goals and help the team win games and win medals," the Englishman told talkSPORT.
"I know what's expected of me and what's expected when you put on a Liverpool shirt. I have to put in more than 100 per cent for the shirt. The fans deserve success again. There is an improvement to come.
"The manager is very persistent on how he wants us to play. His methods will always breed success. We were very close last season. This season we'll try our best to get into the Champions League and go from there.
"We are trying to achieve something this season in terms of a trophy. It's about being a winner - I love that feeling of something to show for it. I've signed a new contract and a lot of other players are going to be at the club for a long time, so I'm looking forward to the future with Liverpool.
"I miss it and I want to be out there and I love playing football. Not being able to help has been the hardest thing for me. I've been pushing myself in training day in, day out, making sure when I come back I am prepared and not going to break down."

Mario Balotelli was on target earlier this week to kickstart a Liverpool fightback against Swansea City which eventually saw the hosts prevail 2-1 in the Capital One Cup at Anfield.
Having combined neatly with the Italian when the pair were pivotal in dismantling Tottenham Hotspur two months ago, Sturridge is looking forward to collaborating with his fellow forward and the Reds' other summer signings soon.
The No.15 commented: "We get along well off the field and in the changing room. We're always laughing and joking.
"Once I get back fit I'm hopeful we can strike up a partnership - not just with him but with the other new players that are also at the club. I'm just going to go out there and work as hard as I possibly can to win games."
